A Great Day in the Park
1 It was a beautiful day in Boston, but David, Shawn, and Molly could not find anything fun to do. Molly
wanted to go down the street to the park.

2 "The park is boring," David said. "There's nothing to do there."

3 "Trust me," Molly said. She picked up a baseball and a bat. "There's more to do in the park than there is on
   the sidewalk. Let's go!"

4 David and Shawn looked at each other and agreed. Molly walked to the park quickly, but David and Shawn
walked slowly behind her. They were not convinced that this was a good idea. Soon they found an open
field. David and Shawn looked around. They were not sure if they wanted to stay because the field seemed
empty and boring. Molly drew a home plate, tapped the bat against the ground, and said, "Play ball!"

5 They began to play. Molly pitched the ball to Shawn. He hit the ball hard, and it flew far over David's head.
It would have been a home run even in Fenway, the Red Sox ballpark! They each took turns at bat until they
grew tired. "There is not enough room to play ball like this outside the house," said Molly. "There are too
many people and cars that get in the way."

6 "You're right," said David, "but what should we do now?"

7 "Follow me," said Molly. David and Shawn shrugged their shoulders and followed Molly. They found a path
surrounded by tall trees, and they all felt like they were walking in the forest. Suddenly, they saw some rocks.

8 "I bet those rocks are fun to climb," said Molly. The friends scrambled up the rocks and got to the top at the
same time. "It's a tie!" they all said.

9 They looked around from the top of the rocks. "You can see the city from here," said David. "But you can't
see all the people and the cars."

10 "It's like we are in a different place," said Shawn. "This is awesome!"

11 "We told you the park was a good idea, Molly," David and Shawn said. Then they all laughed. The three
friends explored the whole park until it was time to go home.
